God's Way to Eternal Life

All Bible verses are from the book of Romans, in the New Testament

The Bible is God's Word for all of us and is relevant to all people, and for all of time. The following verses tell how to become a part of God's family, but all of Scripture (the Bible) tells the same story of God's love for His creation and His desire to have a personal relationship with us. This is just one set of verses that state it clearly, but not the only Bible verses that show us how to enter a relationship with God.

1. For all have sinned, and fall short of God's glorious standard. - Romans 3:23

No one is perfect. No one can earn heaven on their own. We are all, by nature, sinners.

2. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.. - Romans 6:23

Just as we earn wages for working, we also earn wages for our sins. The wages for sin is death so that is what we deserve          because of our sinful nature. Our sin has earned us death.

3. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.- Romans 5:8

But because God loves us so much, he sent his only Son to pay the price for us. Jesus took our place and received the punishment in our place. He has paid our debt in full.

4. For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. - Romans 10:9-10

All that God asks us to do is to receive Him in our hearts. We are to turn from our sin and follow Him. We are to believe that Jesus is the Son of God in our hearts and confess it with our mouths.

5. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. - Romans 10:13

The Bible, God's Word, tells us that if we call upon the name of the Lord, we will be saved.

If you are ready to accept God's free gift of salvation, simply pray a prayer like the one below with true sincerity from your heart:

"Heavenly Father, I understand that I am a sinner and for my sins I have earned death. I also believe that Jesus, your Son, came to earth, conquered sin and death that I might have eternal life if I just believe in Him and accept Him as my Savior. I now accept your free gift of salvation and I thank you for saving a sinner like me. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen."

All Scripture references are from the New Living Translation of the Bible.
